Frank Sweeney, MA is a Senior Arts Manager and Executive Producer with over 30 years’ experience producing large-scale cultural events and community arts programmes.
He developed his executive producing practice at Hackney Empire, programming thousands of nights and co-producing hundreds of productions. Career highlights include supporting the development of Slava Polunin’s Snowshow, producing a canon of box office hits by Angie Le Mar, and helping launch emerging talent through the legendary 291 Variety Show and the New Acts of the Year Comedy Showcase.
He is co-Director of GB Carnival, producing annual carnivals in Leyton, Ramsgate and Margate, and Executive Producer of the African Diaspora Festival Choir, directed by Chapman Roberts. His work bridges Carnival, performance and cultural heritage across the African Atlantic Diaspora.
Frank serves as Trustee of The Show Crib (The Crib), Rising Tide Trust, LCGC Charity and Clod Ensemble, and is a Director of Prevention Better Than Cure. Through these roles he contributes strategic governance, youth development, and cultural leadership across the voluntary and community sector.
He is a Clock Your Skills Sector Expert and Practitioner, currently working towards his Level 8 Industry Champion Award, advancing professional standards and non-formal higher education recognition within Community Art
