About Me.
I'm a community arts project manager and social change activist with a wealth of experience in producing and managing live events, with over 25 years in the industry and an impressive lineup of programming and co-producing credits, including over 500 shows at the Hackney Empire. These include the likes of the New 291 Variety Show, NATYS: New Comics Showcase, Angie le Mar and Gina Yashere's box office hits, Oliver Samuels, Jamaican National Pantomime, Madness, Chuck Berry and Slava Polunin.

At Create London, I co-produced the Rio London Carnival Exchange for the London 2012 Festival, which led to the creation of the Great British Carnival legacy project. Now it’s own stand alone company, GB Carnival continues to present an international array of Carnival artists and bring joy to diverse communities in Margate, Ramsgate and Waltham Forest.

I'm currently co-producing with Broadway and West End legend, Chapman Roberts, O, Happy Day!!! by the African Diaspora Festival Choir for the Waltham Forest Windrush 75 Festival; along with a range of community-focused initiatives, including the Carnival Arts Network and Making Carnival Community Workshops in Waltham Forest, and Learning Mentor with the GLA Music Industry Skills Bootcamp. Recent projects include: Hi Culture, Windrush Festival, First Sight, and Hearticulate at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Boroughs United and Generation Uncovered at The Crib, and the New Comedy Promoters at Soho Theatre.

I hold a variety of key appointments, including Managing Director of GB Carnival and Trustee for the Show Crib and Clod Ensemble.

My research into Jankonu masquerade and the 18th century genesis of African-Caribbean Carnival is supported by the Academy of Contemporary Music, MA/ MSc Creative Industries Futures, and Arts Council England, Developing Your Creative Practice.
